Scholarship The CDIC Society for Coatings Technology Lew Larson Memorial Educational Grant was established to further the knowledge of coatings for an employee in the coatings, or associated, industry. The Grant will be funded for tuition only to an acceptable short course or seminar in coatings related technology. The amount shall not exceed $1000.00. Travel, lodging or meals will not be included in the grant.To be eligible for the award, each applicant must: 1. Be a full or part time employee of a company within the boundaries of the CDIC. 2. Want to pursue a career in the coatings field, which includes raw materials for coatings, and usage or application of coatings. 3. Be nominated by a member of the CDIC. 4. Along with his/her supervisor and nominator (can be same person if #3 is met), fill out the attached application and return to the Scholarship Chairperson of the CDIC by January 1. The winner will receive the tuition for the short course he/she is planning on attending. Acceptable courses are coatings related short courses or seminars as listed in Journal of Coatings Technology, or acceptable to the Executive Committee. This can also include courses during the ICE Show. Applicant will be notified of his/her acceptance by April 1. He/she should attend the meeting in their area to receive the award prior to the course. NOTE: Applications are good for three (3) years, as long as information is current. A letter of interest should be submitted to the Chairman or Executive Committee for consideration during second and third years. All applicants will be notified of the Awards Committee decision by e-mail/mail. All decisions made by the Awards Committee are final. The Awards Committee will be the current Executive Committee. Awards must be used before the end of the following calendar year it is awarded. All contents of the applications are confidential. Best of luck to all who enter. |
